A Message from our Principal
Hello, my name is Philip Cammarata and I am the principal of Persell Middle School. I began my teaching career at Mayville Elementary School teaching fifth grade for five years. After Mayville, I moved to Jamestown, teaching seventh grade social studies at Washington Middle School for five years. During my elementary and middle school teaching experiences, I continued my education receiving my Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development and later finished my certification to become a principal.
I am beginning my sixth year as principal of Persell Middle School and previously I was the assistant principal here for three years before Mrs. DeMarco
retired. I love my job and the students I serve. I want my students to have a wonderful experience in middle school and I know they will get a sound education. Myself and Mrs. Weikel, my new assistant principal, are always open to suggestions for improvement and we are always willing to talk with students, staff and parents to make the Persell experience outstanding for everyone.
Persell is an excellent school because of our staff. They are a dedicated, hard-working, fun, student-centered group of people who strive for the success of all of their students. Every team holds study groups before or after school to help students who are struggling. This is totally voluntary and most groups meet until 4:00PM.
Here at Persell we pride ourselves in our respect, accountability, hard work, dedication, and success for all our students.
If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to stop in or call me, or my assistant, Mrs. Weikel at (716) 483-4406.
Sincerely,
Philip Cammarata
Principal
