Estar - to be
The verb estar - to be is conjugated in a similar fashion to a regular -ar verb.
yo estoy - I am
tú estás - you are
él, ella está - he, she is
Ud. está - you (formal) are
nosotros, nosotras estamos - we are
ellos, ellas están - they are
Uds. están - you all are


The uses of estar
Estar is used in situations that are relatively temporary.
These situations include:
1. emotions or feelings (example: Yo estoy bien.)
2. physical condition (example: Él está enfermo.)
3. location (example: Pablo está en Costa Rica.)
