tener - to have
Tener is an irregular verb with changes to the stem of the verb.
Yo tengo - I have
Tú tienes - you have
Él tiene - he has
Ella tiene - she has
Ud. tiene - you (formal) have
Nosostros tenemos - we have
Nosotras tenemos - we have (feminine)
Ellos tienen - they have
Ellas tienen - they have (feminine)
Uds. tienen - you all have


Note: When a form of the verb tener is followed by the word que it means to have to do something. This is the expression tener que. For example: Nosotros tenemos que estudiar.-- means--We have to study.


Try to write some sentences on your own using a form of the verb tener followed by que. Show me your sentences next class or during study hall.
