We recently were awarded a grant . It has been very helpful in us acquiring equipment for our school district. We received the S.M.I.L.E. Lab. This program was developed specifically to help individuals improve sensory motor skills. The lab contains numerous stations, each designed to increase one or more sensory motor skills of participants. Research has revealed that, as these sensory motor skills improve, student's ability to learn will do likewise. Numerous studies have demonstrated increased reading and math scores of lab participants. We have been using this program during our testing of the Fitness Gram. The Fitness Gram test includes four parts, flexibility sit and reach test, strength push ups and sit ups, aerobic pacer test. We also received a new stereo system with a remote which has come in very handy. Our heart rate monitors, which we introduced with our caffeine experiment. The heart rate monitors will only be used with fourth graders. Step aerobics equipment new individual mats and other little items.
Report cards are presently given in second grade and in fourth twice a year for each of these grade levels.
Please make sure your child has proper clothing and shoes for Physical Education class.
