Miss Ruth Kriese; Consultant

Miss Kriese was born in Jackson, Michigan, about an hour drive from the Motor City, and has lived in the Jamestown Area for the past 17 years.  She earned her Associate’s Degree from Central College in McPherson, Kansas in 1983, her Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in 1985, and her Master’s Degree from Alfred University, in Alfred, New York in 1990.  She began her teaching career working as a Self Contained Special Education teacher in Wellsville, New york for 14 years, where she also served as an Inclusion Teacher, a Resource Room Teacher, and a Fourth Grade Teacher.  For the past 7 years she has served the Jamestown School District as an Inclusion Teacher, a Resource Room Teacher, and a Consultant Teacher.  Above and beyond her very versatile and busy schedule in school, she served as an Odyssey Olympics of the Mind Coach.
Mrs. Hess was born in Jamestown and has been here all her life.  She was a student right here at Jefferson and went on to graduate from Jamestown High School (1995) where she participated in the A’Capella Choir and Band.  She also attended and graduated from Jamestown Community College (1997) with an Associate in Arts (Social Science) Degree.  She went on to SUNY Fredonia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (1999) and with a Master of Science Degree in Reading in 2002.  She has taught at Jefferson School for six years, one in the Fifth Grade and the remainder in Sixth Grade.  She did her student teaching here at Jefferson with Mr. Lombardo, who is now her teammate.  She has served the school as a Co-Advisor of the Yearbook Committee, and as Coordinator of the Student of the Month program.  She is a member of the PTA, Kappa Delta Pi, Creche, she participates in the Living Christmas Tree Concert, and has been named to Who’s Who Among American Teachers (2005).  A very recent newlywed, (August 25th), Mrs. Hess is the wife of Steven Hess.
Miss Wilson was born and raised in Jamestown and has lived here all her life.  She is a graduate of Jamestown High School as part of the Class of 2000.  She earned her Associate in Arts Degree from Jamestown Community College in 2001, and she transferred to the State University College at Fredonia, where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, and then went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Literacy Education in 2005.  During High School and her time at Jamestown Community College, Ms. Wilson was a member of the Cheerleading Squad and she went on to coach the Junior Varsity Cheerleading team at Jamestown High School for four years.  Ms. Wilson has worked as a Substitute Teacher in the Jamestown School District for the past three years.  She did her Student Teaching at Lincoln School and this past summer (2007) she was hired to her present position at Jefferson Middle School.
Mr. Lombardo, beginning his final year in teaching, is a native of Jamestown, having graduated from St. James Parochial School in 1968,  Jamestown High School in 1971, and Jamestown Community College, with an Associate in Arts Degree in 1973.  He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from SUNY Fredonia in 1975, and later his Master of Science Degree in 1981.  Mr Lombardo began his teaching career in 1975, substitute teaching for two years. He started in Jamestown in 1977 and has taught Fourth Grade at Fletcher School, At-Risk Students at JHS, and Comp. Ed. Math at Love School, before coming to Jefferson in 1989, teaching in the Fifth Grade for three years then moving on to the Sixth Grade, where he has been ever since.  Mr. Lombardo has also coached Modified Football (13 years),  Junior Varsity Baseball (2 years), Varsity Baseball (15 years), and Modified Girls Softball (5 years running).  He is has a Teaching Certificate (N,K-6), and is a NY State  Certified Coach for Baseball and Football, along with being certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.  Mr. Lombardo has been named to Who’s Who Among American Teachers four times and has been recognized by the International Biographical Center, the Cambridge Blue Book, and the Junior National Young Leaders Conference.  He was named one of 2000 Outstanding Intellectual Leaders of the 21st Century in 2005, as well as being  named the 2004 Teacher of the Year by VFW Post 53 in Jamestown.   In 2007,  Mr. Lombardo was selected as a facilitator for a People To People World Leadership Forum in Washington, DC.  He was also voted Coach of the Year by the Chautauqua County Division II (High School Baseball Coaches) in 1997 & 1998.  He’s currently the Secretary of the Marco Polo Club of Jamestown, President of the Cleveland Browns Backers of Jamestown, a member of the NY-Penn Wahoo Club, a NY State Certified Baseball Umpire, and a member of the Jamestown Teachers’ Association, NYSUT, and NEA.  Mr Lombardo is also a past president of the Holy Family School Board of Consultors, and he attends SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Mr. Lombardo has been married to the former Sally Hamilton since 1980 and has two daughters (one in Portland, TN with two sons, and one in Hookstown, PA with two sons), and a son who is a Freshman at Medaille College in Buffalo.
