Mr. Baron’s
Computer CLass

This is a brief introduction to all four of my computer classes at Jefferson Middle School.

5th and 6th Grades are primarily involved in keyboarding and word processing.  The secondary topics that are covered include web searches, computer hardware and software.  Computer art has always been important part of my classroom experience

7th and 8th Grades learn about systems, the impact of technology on people and the environment, the history and evolution of technology, and understanding computer technology.  They also continue to improve their keyboarding skills.

All students are taught the importance of Internet Safety during a two week unit.  Parents are encouraged to look over the information in this unit since  children are using the Internet to greater extents at both home and school (see the section “Tips for Parents”).

Welcome Keep out The above picture is of my pet mouse, Joe Shmoe. All of my students know that Joe likes to sleep in a bag of potatoes. He’s funny like that. Every student learns how to draw and paint Joe on their computers. We can see Joe getting ready to pick apples. He just loves apples. Fall is the time for apple pie and apple turnovers; well, at least Joe thinks so.
