District Physical Education Staff

Jamestown Public Schools is on the cutting edge in presenting physical education to our students. The district was recently the recipient of the Carol M. White Physical Education Grant in the amount of $499,038. The standards-based program shifts physical education, for all students, away from specific skills and toward lifelong physical fitness through teacher development and the purchase of equipment. Money from the grant will be used to certify staff as personal trainers and purchase cardiovascular and strength equipment. "Focus on Fitness" has been a part of the district’s program for a year and a half. It includes fitness training and some component of student readout on fitness levels. With the new equipment, teachers and students will have the ability to monitor their heart rates and improve their fitness levels.
