Fletcher, Jefferson, Lincoln, Love, Ring and Rogers Honored By State Education Department
The Board of Regents and the State Education Department recently recognized Fletcher, Lincoln, Love, Ring, Rogers Elementary Schools and Jefferson Middle School. Fletcher, Lincoln and Rogers Elementary Schools were recognized as one of New York State's Title I “high performing/gap closing” public and charter schools. Ring and Love Elementary Schools and Jefferson Middle School were also recognized as one of New York State's “rapidly improving” public and charter schools.
Lincoln, Fletcher, and Rogers Elementary Schools were given their designation because they met all applicable State standards for English Language Arts and math during the 2005-06 school years and also made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in English Language Arts, math, and science during both the 2004-05 and 2005-06 school years.
Jefferson Middle School, Love & Ring Elementary Schools designations were given because they made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in English Language Arts, math, and science during the past three school years and improved performance during this period on those measures for which they was below State standards.
“Your entire school community has earned these recognitions,” said Richard P. Mills, Commissioner of Education. “You and your entire school community are to be commended for leading New York forward to accomplish our goal of increasing student achievement.”
