JHS Students of the Month
The following students have been selected as
"Students of the Month for February 2008"
GRADE 12: Joella Eppehimer
PARENTS: Wayne and Joan Eppehimer
ACTIVITIES: Joella plays the cello in the school orchestra, writes for the newspaper, is a leader of Impact, and is a member of Raider Readers. Outside of school, she participates in youth group and Bible quizzing and plays the guitar on her church’s worship team.
FUTURE PLANS: She plans to attend either Houghton or Toccoa Falls College next year for intercultural studies and aspires to be a missionary in the future.
GRADE 11: Philip Sellstrom
PARENTS: John and Cindy Sellstrom
ACTIVITIES: Philip is on the student council and a member of the National Honor Society. He is a scholar athlete on both the boys’ swim and tennis teams. In his spare time, he attends JCC and works as a certified ski instructor at Holiday Valley. Philip is a member of the Boy Scouts of America and has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
FUTURE PLANS: He plans to attend college after graduating JHS.

GRADE 10: Margaret Mims
PARENT: Percy and Catherine Mims
ACTIVITIES: Margaret is on the honor roll and is active in many extracurricular activities. She is currently assistant to the Director for the school musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, plays first chair French horn in the Concert Band, participates in orchestra, class and school government and ski club. She also plays second singles on the Varsity Girls’ Tennis Team. Outside of school, Margaret is active at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church as a lay reader and Sunday school teacher. She is a certified scuba diver and loves to travel.
FUTURE PLANS: Her plans are to attend Texas A & M University to pursue a career in business.

GRADE 9: Lauren Caldwell
PARENTS: Mary Jo and Steven Caldwell
ACTIVITIES: Lauren has broken several swimming records on the JHS Swim Team. Also, she is the Section 6 champion for the 100-yard butterfly. She is a dancer and cheerleader for the Demarco Sisters School of Dance, and is participating in the JHS musical.
FUTURE PLANS: Lauren plans to go to college and become a physical therapist.
