Assistant Principal's Message

MRS. ELIZABETH FEINEN

Dear Students and Families: I am very pleased to have been appointed as the Assistant Principal of Jamestown High School, part of a team of three assistants: Mr. Sutter, Mr. Mansfield and myself.

I am entering JHS, after having served three years as the Assistant Principal of Washington Middle School, and two years as Curriculum Coordinator of ESL, Foreign Language and Social Studies for the district.

At JHS, we have high expectations for our students and it is with pleasure and pride that we have the opportunity to significantly influence them, as they become contributory citizens in the Jamestown community and society. I strongly believe that education is a partnership between school and home. I am looking forward to working with all of you to ensure a successful and productive year for all of our students.

I hope you share the enthusiasm we experience at JHS. Teachers and students are extremely busy delving into a rich and demanding curriculum, while forging ahead on a steady track toward college and career choices. Your support at home is key in your child’s success at school and beyond.

At this time, your child has received a Parent Student Handbook. It is very important for all families to read through the Parent Student Handbook. The Handbook itself explains district policies, the attendance policy, the tardiness policy, the discipline code, and many other topics. The Parent Student Handbook allows our school to maintain a high set of expectations. At the same time it allows us to educate in a safe, comfortable learning environment for all of our students to learn.

If you have any questions or concerns with which I may assist you, please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail at mailtoefeinen@jamestown.wnyric.org, or phone, 716-483-7103. I look forward to meeting and talking with you throughout the school year.
