*LOCAL DIPLOMA OPTION:
All JHS students will be expected to achieve a Regents (or higher) diploma. A limited and time barred opportunity will exist for students to achieve a "local diploma", though this option is not encouraged for general education students. All exam and credit expectations will remain the same as the Regents diploma requirements with the following exceptions:
Students that entered JHS as freshmen prior to 2005:
A score of 55 to 64 on any of the five required Regents exams will qualify for local diploma credit.
Students entering JHS as freshmen in the fall of 2005:
Students must score 65 or above on two required Regents exams and score 55 or above on three required Regents exams.
Students entering JHS as freshmen in the fall of 2006:
Students must score 65 or above on three required Regents exams and score 55 or above on two required Regents exams.
Students entering JHS as freshmen in the fall of 2007:
Students must score 65 or above on four required Regents exams and score 55 or above on one required Regents exam.
Students entering JHS as freshmen in 2008 and beyond:
The local diploma option will not be available to general education students.
