A message from our principal...

I have taught in Special Ed., Vocational Ed, Alternative Ed. and General Ed. English. This diverse teaching background and private sector work experiences have helped to shape my educational focus, which is Career Readiness.

Helping students, teachers and parents to visualize the world after High School is a key to my philosophy. There are many routes that a person can take to get from school to work. There is 4- year or 2-year College, Trade School, Technical School, Military Service, Family Business, Entrepreneurship and On the Job Training. The common factor in all of these routes is a need for a base of skills that can support ongoing learning. Strong Reading, Mathematical and Communication Skills are only a few of the basics that students need to be successful in their endeavors.
The ability to use computers and related technology is an important part of a complete education. We are making tremendous progress in outfitting our building with the latest technology and we’re teaching everyone that needs to know how to use it.

Another area that I feel strongly about is citizenship. Teaching students to take social responsibility and to be contributing members of teams and organizations help to build strong community members. I recognize the vital role Jamestown High School plays in the city community. It is my view that a strong school is a key element in attracting people to our area and in keeping them here. Social and Economic development depend on a solid school system and I will continue to do my best to make JHS as strong as it can be.
